New Delhi

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will hold brainstorming sessions on population control, women empowerment, minority outreach and use of mother tongue in education among others at its executive meeting four-day national race which begins on Sunday in Prayagraj.

The Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak (ABKMB) will be led by RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale.

Informing about the meeting, RSS Publicity Officer Sunil Ambekar said that the swayamsevaks from the 45 regions would report on the status of the implementation of the plan which was drawn up at the annual meeting in March. Apart from this, the organization will develop another action plan for the next year.

“Members will reflect on all the hot topics in society. Particular emphasis will be placed on issues that sa rsanghachalak (head of the RSS) had spoken during his annual speech on the occasion of Vijayadasami,” Mr Ambekar said.

Mr. Bhagwat, on Vijayadasami, spoke at length about population control, empowerment of women, social harmony, promotion of mother tongue education.

“After 75 years of independence, India now needs a policy of population control applicable to all for the next 50 years to make people an asset to the country,” Mr Bhagwat said in his October 5 speech.

He also underlined that the demographic balance based on religion was an important subject that could no longer be ignored. He wondered what kind of education and health care would be provided to people if the population continued to grow.

The four-day meeting will also take stock of the expansion of organizational and Sangh Shiksha Varg work, Ambekar said, adding that there would be discussions on important contemporary issues in the country.

He also informed that the RSS would complete its 100th anniversary in 2025 and therefore the meeting would consider plans to increase the number of its shakhas across the country. He said there are currently 55,000 shakhas and the RSS aims to increase to one lakh by March 2024.

The meeting will also discuss the project of Sangh Shiksha Varg (RSS training sessions), which will be organized from November 14 to December 8 in Nagpur. Previously, Sangh Shiksha Varg programs were held only in the month of May.
