Biden nominee linked to eco-terrorism who endorsed population control confirmed by Senate

In a 50-45 party vote Thursday night, the US Senate confirmed President Joe Biden’s controversial nominee Tracy Stone-Manning, who previously endorsed population control, as head of the Bureau of Land Management. , which oversees millions of acres of federal land.

The Bureau of Land Management is under the United States Department of the Interior. It oversees all public lands in the country, most of which are concentrated in the states of Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Orgeon, Utah, Washington, Nevada, New -Mexico and Wyoming.

Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Joe Manchin (D-WV) bowed to political pressure and announced earlier that he would vote for the nominee. Senate Democrats slipped confirmation of the radical nominee during the current chaos in Congress surrounding the ongoing debate on the $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill.

Stone-Manning was linked to a 1989 Earth First! tree planting plot in Idaho. A common eco-terrorist tactic is to insert metal rods into trees to prevent them from being felled and loggers’ chainsaws from exploding. Following the incident, a factory worker’s jaw split in half due to a chainsaw explosion.

She was granted immunity from prosecution in 1993 when she agreed to testify and admit her role in an eco-terrorist group responsible for what happened in the 1989 incident where she wrote and sent an anonymous letter telling the world a forest near where she lived in Idaho had been seeded with 500 pounds of spikes measuring 8 to 10 inches in length.

Adam Brandon, president of the conservative and libertarian advocacy group FreedomWorks, said Stone-Manning “collaborated with eco-terrorist groups linked to Ted Kaczynski.”

Stone-Manning supported population control to protect the environment in his graduation thesis and said Americans should “raise fewer consuming humans”. She added that parents should only have two children and created a sample ad for her initiative that called children “a danger to the environment”. She also wrote in 1991 that Americans should “wage war on overpopulation” in order to protect grizzly bears.

According to FoxNewsStone-Manning called the US citizens’ “conquest” of Western states a “Pyrrhic victory”, and claimed that we humans have “annexed too much space” in the region.

“The local hills now look like war zones. The damage is evident and the disappearance of the griz[zly bears] imminent, yet we continue our war cries while raising our arms.”

Last year, she shared her husband’s 2018 article which suggested homes caught in wildfires should be allowed to burn.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and others had called on Biden to revoke Stone-Manning’s nomination for ties to ecoterrorism and questionable honesty before a Senate committee earlier this year.
