Letter: Was COVID-19 population control? | Letters to the Editor

Which country will build the ultimate nuclear or biological weapon and what will be the consequences if these weapons get out of hand?

Sometimes experiments to develop these ultimate weapons fall into the hands of human beings who make mistakes. As one person said, “Those who think they can do something infallible, greatly underestimate the genius of the fool.”

Two major examples are the catastrophic nuclear meltdown at the Chernobyl power plant in Ukraine and the release of deadly radiation and the other is the deadly virus released from the lab in Wuhan, China. Either way, I guess these nations were trying to manufacture a super weapon as a bargaining chip in the struggle between nations for a voice on the world stage.

Every superpower and those who want to be superpowers are trying to develop and improve these weapons. Nuclear and biological warfare seem to be the current methods of mass destruction. There are similarities between radiation and the new virus in that they both use time, distance, and shielding as their first response.

Time was wasted due to developing country secrets, the mask mandate as shielding was second and third was to distance 6-12 feet between people or lockdowns. Governments scramble to cover up accidents because people would panic if they told the truth. You have to give the impression that everything was under control. As a result, mandatory distance, shielding, and time solutions were used to solve the problem; life as we know it is now changed with no definitive answer to fix the problem.

The scientist forgot that nature always has a say in man’s best plans. A year ago, I read that scientists believe human population growth is causing climate change and that the planet will soon be destroyed if the human population is not brought under control. Mocking this theory, I joked that the obvious solution was to start reducing the number of people and that would solve the problem. I hope no one thought I was serious. Well, what is the latest number of deaths worldwide from the COVID virus? If the nations keep playing with fire, we better find a fire hose fast.

There’s a Bob Dylan song that expresses my current state of mind, and the words go like this: “Standing on the gallows with my neck in a noose, at all times I expect everyone hell is lost. People are crazy and times have changed, I’m locked up and furious, I cared, but things have changed.”
