MCA is looking for an active, proactive and passionate Marketing Coordinator: Social Media and Digital to support and be part of the MCA marketing team and drive engagement on our digital channels with a focus on growth social media.

The successful candidate will understand all aspects of social media, be an exceptional copywriter and storyteller, have an eye for images, a solid grasp of digital trends, and a keen interest in data-driven campaigns.
This role supports the Marketing team in the implementation and delivery of initiatives, campaigns and partnerships to achieve maximum visibility for the Museum, its brand, exhibitions, programs and events, and to improve the visitor experience.
The Marketing Coordinator (Social Media and Digital) is responsible for developing and implementing MCA’s digital marketing strategy across multiple platforms, including social media, e-communications, SEM and SEO campaigns, as well as social media coordination and delivery and audience building for online environments.
The position reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with the Head of Marketing, Communications and Visitor Experience, Marketing Assistant, Marketing and Communications Coordinator (Development and Enterprises) and Relationship Manager to support the Museum’s digital marketing strategies and conduct social media campaigns. As the guardian of the brand, the Marketing Coordinator: Social Media and Digital actively collaborates and liaises with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and maximum exposure for the Museum.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and deliver social media campaigns to grow and nurture an engaged community on social media platforms.
- Plan and produce engaging content online with MCA campaigns (including exhibits, public programs, and cross-divisional projects) for all online channels, including social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Twitter) and the website.
- Develop an understanding of the MCA collection, exhibitions and cross-divisional projects through independent research and materials created by our team of curators to ensure engaging and accurate content is created.
- Be a brand guardian by ensuring innovative, high-quality content is shared across all channels with impeccable attention to detail.
- Work with the marketing and digital team to maximize video content opportunities and reach.
- Provide regular reports and audience insights using tools and social listening.
- Set up social media ads.
- Work with the marketing team to develop databases, social media networks and engagement rates to achieve KPIs.
- Work with a range of internal stakeholders to ensure all content is correct and goes through approval processes.

- Develop and implement the Museum’s digital marketing strategy and campaigns to ensure brand, revenue, conversion and engagement.
- Develop and implement digital marketing plans on social media, paid advertising and other content opportunities.
- Carry out creative, innovative and profitable online advertising campaigns to promote the Museum, its exhibitions and its programs.
- Work with MCA’s marketing and digital teams to build audiences for digital content across all online platforms.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, innovation and benchmarks in social media, digital marketing and implement outreach and audience growth strategies for all Museum activities.
- Coordinate the creation and delivery of online advertising, search engine marketing, search engine optimization and the Museum’s Google grant.
- Create digital advertising and manage digital agencies for large projects.
Team
- Actively contribute to marketing team planning and strategy sessions.
- Develop an understanding of MCA audience research and how it can be applied to all digital channels.
- Coordinate the creation and timely delivery of email campaigns to promote the Museum, its exhibits and programs to achieve agreed sales and engagement goals.
- Provide regular reports on KPIs and ROI and audience insights.
- Support the Marketing Director on other cross-divisional projects as needed.
Other departments
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Creative Learning, Curatorial, Development, MCA Store and Venues to ensure timely delivery of online priorities.
- Work closely with the Marketing Director to advise on effective digital marketing strategies that are in line with the MCA brand.
Main selection criteria
Essential criteria
Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have:
- Prior experience of at least 3 years in a similar role within a marketing team
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write and edit effective marketing copy
- proofreading and editing skills with good attention to detail
- passion for the digital industry coupled with knowledge of trends and best practices
- active interest in visual arts and culture
- demonstrated ability to develop and deliver creative digital marketing campaigns with a focus on social media and proven ability to think outside the box
- proven track record in effectively coordinating digital advertising and SEO/SEM campaigns
- demonstrated experience using social media platforms to achieve financial goals, deepen engagement and improve brand recognition with consumers
- demonstrated track record of sending effective electronic communications that support the brand while delivering high open and click-through rates and conversions
- strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, including external agencies, digital media specialists and web developers
- demonstrated planning and project management skills
- proven track record of working independently and as a member of a team to address competing priorities
- demonstrated high level administrative skills and good computer skills using word, excel

Desirable criteria
Candidates should have:
- InDesign and Photoshop skills
- experience in a similar role, working for a visual arts, arts or culture organization, including agency work
- relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, public relations, communications (or related discipline)
- interest in new marketing concepts, technologies and experiential marketing.
