National health declaration for COVID-19 prevention and control no longer required across Vietnam

Previously, the Ministry of Health had sent an urgent document to people’s committees of provinces and cities on suspending COVID-19 medical declaration for COVID-19 at all border gates of Việt Nam for all entering the country at from April 27. 2022, after reports of long queues and wait times caused by inspection of self-completed medical forms.

With the suspension of the health declaration, as well as the previous lifting of restrictions on large gatherings, the obligation to wear a mask in public places, as well as disinfection, remain the only public health measures related to COVID-19 in force in Việt Nam. —VNS
