NCR positivity rate climbs to 18.9%

WITH Metro Manila currently under the “moderate” risk classification, its positivity rate for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) continues to rise and is now approaching 20%.

According to Octa Research, the seven-day positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has increased to 18.9% as of September 28, 2022.

This is up from the 17.5% positivity rate recorded on September 21.

“The NCR remains at moderate risk,” Octa said.

While the positivity rate is still on the rise, the reproduction number in Metro Manila has fallen to 1.10, as of September 26.

This is less than the 1.28 recorded on September 19.

OCTA added that the average daily attack rate (Adar) in the NCR was 7.42 per 100,000 population, as of September 29.

This is down from 7.83 per 100,000 population on September 22.

Two weeks ago, the Department of Health (DOH) said the NCR was back under the “moderate” risk classification.

On Thursday, the DOH reported that 13 of Metro Manila’s 17 local government units are currently classified in the “moderate” risk category. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
