Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob stressed that the federal government will continue to ensure that the high poverty rate in Kelantan is overcome. Earlier, as reported by FMT, Economic Affairs Minister Dato’ Sri Mutapa Mohamed revealed that Kelantan was among the four states in Malaysia that had seen the highest increase in poverty rates. Therefore, the Prime Minister said that various initiatives will be implemented to address the issue, including the allocation of RM124 million to 590,000 Malaysian Family Assistance (BKM) recipients in Kelantan. “Tok Bali aims to become a new center of growth through special tax incentives and high-impact projects implemented by the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), namely the East Coast Industrial Park Tok Bali (TBIP), Tok Bali Integrated Fisheries Park (TBIFP) and external infrastructure for Tok Bali Port,”
In addition, the Prime Minister also announced that a new RM6 million multi-purpose digital complex with a sports entertainment concept will be built on a 23 hectare site in Ketereh. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) has allocated RM2.6 billion to 88 projects in Kelantan, including 64 extension projects and 24 new projects. The RM7.7 billion 191-kilometre (CSR) Central Spine Road (CSR) complex, linking Gua Musang and Kuala Krai, is expected to be completed in 2026 and will facilitate people’s movement and improve socio-status -economic of the local population. population.
Other federal government initiatives that will benefit Kelantan include East Coast Rail Link Project (ECRL), Sultan Ismail Petra Airport Modernization Project (LTSIP), Palekbang Bridge in Tumpat and 12 projects construction of health clinics and staff quarters in Gua Musang and Bachok.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the government is always listening to Keluarga Malaysia’s grievances over the rising prices of goods, especially food, and to address it, it is spending RM1.1 billion on chicken subsidies and eggs and RM4 billion for sachet cooking oil. .
