Zain Bahrain East Continued more than just a vibrant center full of star individuals and team spirit, they have also cultivated a culture of constant support where they provide opportunities for people to grow and improve their skills. (Zain’s vibe is the bestie that always hypes you up!)
And for this year’s International Women’s Day, we would like to introduce and recognize Sarah Al SamahijiMarketing and Digital Communications Specialist (just another word for genius) as a force in the Zain Bahrain family to be reckoned with.
A passionate, risk-taking, extrovert, team player, that’s how Sarah described herself in four words. “I think I look quiet to people who don’t know me, but that’s a whole different story once you get to know me.” she says. As if that weren’t enough, Sarah revealed that she is training to become a certified Pilates instructor! A tour of Mashallah is in order. Everyone needs a practice to recharge their batteries in their leisure time, a diamond like her is no exception.
“I chose these four words because they highlight who I am very much, they touch on parts of my personality and they are things I love about myself.” As it should be, Sarah, and we’ll tell people exactly why in a moment.
Confidence, charisma and intelligence are three essential ingredients in the recipe for a strong passion and a spectacular vision to be realized, and Sarah’s journey perfectly highlights this. Her first step into the field was a mandatory internship for college, all she wanted to do was get into the field of marketing and communications, and she did.
“Somehow I got an internship in the marketing operations team while I was living in Berlin, and I was part of the team handling requests from the digital marketing team. – helping them build landing pages, track links and provide overall support to ensure a successful campaign. We don’t speak much German but, Fantastisch Sarah!
Her interest in the field blossomed while she pursued her studies, while being at the forefront of the boom in the mobile advertising market. “At the time, only a few actors dominated the industry. It’s amazing to know that I was in a role from the start and fell in love with it as I learned and grew. grew up in. And the rest, as they say, is history.
With her experience in different global markets, Sarah has accumulated knowledge on the intricacies of her field from different angles. “In Europe, you can see how ads are tailored specifically for the channels they’re on.” she stated. “For example: a TV spot would have a following on a digital platform, but it would have a very different and distinct message.” The link between the type of media and the ads displayed is a key element to the success of your campaign, and it’s something that Zain Bahrain has nailed down over the years. There is no doubt that our approach to marketing is consistent across all of its media, but it is certainly more community-based than abroad.
The essence of Bahrain is delightfully reflected in our marketing scene with familiar language and demeanor that gives ads a little edge and inspires audiences to connect with the campaign on a personal level. But even good things can become better.
“If there’s one thing the Bahraini market is a little too focused on, it’s selling the product or service which can come across as a clutter of information.” Sarah shared, “Nowadays with the amount of screen time we have short attention spans. It’s pretty hard to get someone to interact and engage with you without giving them the right kind of content. She only speaks the truth!
Regardless of this small flaw, Bahrain’s marketing scene is displaying exciting new campaigns that focus on our people and our society, which they aim to represent and understand, and the brand of Zain Bahrain as a moving organization. and community-oriented is center stage. , spotlight on them. Zaina Fel Ain is a dynamic new nationwide campaign that promotes the perception of Bahrain and Bahrainis while simultaneously introducing projects highlighting aspects of partnerships, community, environment, diversity and inclusivity .
Speaking of community, Sarah’s area is customer engagement. We asked her how she has improved her skills throughout her ten-year long career and if she still has a lot to learn. “I’ve had an amazing opportunity to work with diverse teams and clients, which has been instrumental in exposing me to so many types of projects and goals.” she says.
“Even though my basic knowledge and skills are in digital marketing, I have extensive experience in branding campaigns, TV campaigns, performance-based advertising and many other things. I am an avid proponent of learning by doing and then advancing/supporting it through education, but not the other way around.” Sarah added. Digital marketing is a promised land for continuous growth and development as it has a landscape constantly evolving, from new formats and technologies to new trends, you learn on the job!
That said, how did Sarah end up being part of the Zain family? Well, Zain’s vision and values appealed to her, but their integrity was just icing on the cake. “I’ve always enjoyed working in a fast-paced environment, and Zain is no different. It’s amazing to be able to work on so many different initiatives and projects while having the chance to learn new things and be part of a culture that cultivates creativity and growth. You don’t have to tell us twice!
Of course, we couldn’t resist asking Sarah for advice on what people who aspire to earn as much as she does, or startups in general, should watch out for when it comes to digital marketing. “The most important thing with digital marketing is doing it.” She began. “Yes, there are tons of courses and courses available everywhere, but actually setting up the ads, playing around with your targeting and the data at your disposal is one of the best ways to learn.”
Sarah said, “Never underestimate the power of Data. It can tell you a whole story that will help you create the right strategy for you through the right channels. She also mentioned the importance of keeping an eye out for trends, new advertising platforms, new ways to connect with customers and end users. And in his own words, “you never get bored.” If you love your job as much as she does, you’re halfway there!
