Echoing the narrative established by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat in his speech at Vijayadashmi, the Sangh today reiterated the need to develop a population control policy in the country and implement laws strictly anti conversion.
“There should be one population policy applicable to all,” RSS sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale told media at the end of the four-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The senior RSS official said population growth was a cause for concern, especially given the country’s limited resources.
“Everyone needs introspection. The need to implement a policy of population control is all the more pressing. There is a need to create awareness and wake up on the question… what kind of education and health care will be provided to the people if the population continues to increase? said Hosabale.
Claiming that population imbalance on a religious basis had led to the division of many nations, Hosabale said religious conversion and migration from Bangladesh was causing “population imbalance” and called for strict enforcement of anti-terrorism laws. -conversion.
The Sangh was trying to raise awareness about conversions, he said, adding that there had been favorable results from “ghar wapsi”.
Hosabale also claimed that after conversion, infiltration was the second cause of “demographic imbalance”. “The population imbalance caused by the infiltration of Bangladesh has been seen in the northern districts of Bihar, including Purnia and Katihar, and other states,” he said.
The Sangh meeting also took stock of expanding organizational work. “We plan to have a ‘shakha’ in every division of the country by 2024,” the RSS chief said.
