Yogi Adityanath on the Population Control Law: Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that the government would introduce a population control bill when the time comes. On the issue of bringing population control ordinance before the assembly elections, Yogi says, “Everything is done at the appropriate time. You used to ask us to announce a date for the construction of the temple of Ram but we have laid the foundation stone for it. Similarly, Article 370 has also been removed.”
Yogi Adityanath said, “Now we have the challenge to reduce maternal and child mortality. For this we have launched a massive campaign under population policy and whatever happens in the future, the media “We’ll know first. We don’t do anything in silence, it will be done with fanfare. We’ll give information (on the population control bill) when the time comes.”
Calling population growth an “impediment to development”, in July the chief minister unveiled a policy aimed at stabilizing the state’s population and reducing maternal and child mortality within a specified time frame. A few days ago, a Population Control Bill was posted on the Uttar Pradesh Law Commission website, inviting suggestions from the public, stating that people with more than two children in Uttar Pradesh will not be eligible to stand for local body elections.
Yogi slams on Samajwadi party
Earlier, Yogi dove into a tweet posted by Samajwadi party leader Akhilesh Yadav. Yogi says opposition does not depend on their intelligence and hence people laugh at them. Samajwadi Party (SP) Chairman Akhilesh Yadav’s tweet on Monday claimed that a record number of riots had taken place in the state.
Asked about the use of the word “Abba Jaan”, he said he did not find the term uncomfortable. He said it was strange that people wanted Muslim votes but wanted to avoid the word ‘Abba Jaan’.
