The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his constant support and guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
He further briefed the Prime Minister on the UP’s statistics on COVID-19, treatment, availability of medical resources and state preparedness to face any kind of future challenges.
Currently, Uttar Pradesh has sufficient availability of medical resources with the presence of 508 functional medical oxygen plants and the availability of over 42,000 oxygen concentrators. People are also being notified of Covid-19 related information through public address systems in more than 6,000 locations.
Funds received in the form of an emergency Covid relief package are being used to further improve the state’s health infrastructure.
Yogi also said that his government has worked hard to save lives and livelihoods as a result of which, amid the challenges of COVID-19, state revenues have increased by around 25% and exports had increased by 30%.
It should be noted that the government of Uttar Pradesh is effectively managing the COVID-19 situation in the state. Currently, of the 1,384 active cases in the state, only 19 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. The overall test positivity rate (TPR) in the state is 1.87% and the number of cases per million is just 06.
So far, more than 11 million Covid tests have been carried out in Uttar Pradesh. UP has also administered more than 31.26 million doses of Covid vaccine. Of these, more than 17.09 crores are first doses to eligible people, while more than 13.89 crores people have been fully vaccinated in the state. As many as 27.35 lakh precautionary doses have also been administered so far.
The entire population aged 18 and over received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine, while more than 87% of adults received both doses. In the 15-17 age group, 94% of adolescents received the first dose and 65% both doses. After the first dose, children in the 12-14 age group now receive the second dose depending on their eligibility.
