Lehi-based Entrata announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Nico Dato as its chief marketing officer.

Entrata is a property management software provider founded in 2003. Currently, the company serves over 20,000 apartment communities nationwide.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Nico join the Entrata management team. He is a leader who has proven time and time again that he is able to communicate clearly and firmly establish a company’s brand, especially during critical stages of high growth,” said Entrata CEO, Adam Edmunds, in a press release. “Entrata is poised to grow at an incredible rate in the coming years and Nico is the kind of strong leader and brilliant marketing mind the company needs to take its next steps.”

Prior to his time at Entrata, Dato earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Utah. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing at Podium, also a Lehi-based technology company that creates software tools for businesses.

Entrata has grown exponentially in recent years and Dato plans to expand the company’s marketing program accordingly.

“Entrata is one of the fastest growing real estate software companies, and that was even before last year’s record funding,” Dato said. “The company is now in an ideal position to expand the marketing program and its functions, especially as we continue to expand here in the United States as well as internationally.”

In 2021, Entrata closed a $507 million investment, the largest in Utah history. The company plans to use this funding to double research and development spending while focusing on a more aggressive marketing strategy. Although the company already employs 2,100 people, Dato plans to hire more to help support Entrata’s future.

“One of my top priorities is to continue to hire top talent within the marketing team to support Entrata’s growth and innovation, which is only accelerated by the injection of new capital this year. last,” Dato said. “With the company’s incredibly experienced new management and their focus on growth, the future couldn’t be more exciting. Entrata is truly the place to be, not just in Utah, but in the tech realm.

The hiring comes months after the company was embroiled in controversy after the founder and former co-chairman David Bateman resigned of the company after sending anti-Semitic emails promoting COVID-19 conspiracies to political and business leaders in Utah.
