Pochis good choice for Mosquito Control Board | Letters to the Editor

Steve Pochis is a candidate for the Citrus County Mosquito Control Board – Seat 3. He has lived most of his life in Citrus County and attended elementary, middle, and high school in Crystal River. Later, Pochis attended the University of Miami on a golf scholarship.

He and his wife, Jen, raise their children, Karley and Devin, here as well. As a member of IBEW Local 433 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and employed at Duke Energy as a Plant Operator with a secondary skill as a Chemical Technician, Steve Pochis is well qualified to take on the responsibility of the Mosquito Board. He holds a Class C Drinking Water License and is qualified in chemical handling, spill prevention, and more. through his profession. He is an environmental steward and will contribute his knowledge to help protect a fragile environment.

As a member of the Mosquito Board of Directors, Pochis would exercise responsibility for the fiscal affairs of the Mosquito Control District. He is said to have a keen interest in tax affairs in managing funds for day-to-day operations and the purchase of new equipment.

Pochis follows the same fiscal responsibility in his personal life by always keeping a balanced budget, paying his property taxes and not wasting money. He is also not to waste taxpayers money and will do the best service to the county.

Steve Pochis will “pack a punch” and be the top pick for the Citrus County Mosquito Control Board on Nov. 8.
